About Rekka
What is Rekka?
Rekka turns a topic into a narrated, hand-drawn explainer video. You type a line like "how does rain form", pick a style and a format, and get a finished video with voiceover and drawn-on visuals. There is no timeline to edit, no stock asset library to search, and nothing to record yourself.
How long does it take to make a video?
Around 5 to 10 minutes for a video, no matter how long it is. Rendering runs server side, so you can close the tab and the finished video will be waiting in your library.
What styles and formats can I choose?
Three styles: whiteboard, chalkboard, and crayon. Three formats: landscape, square, and portrait. Style and format are always your explicit choice, never guessed from your prompt, so you know exactly what you asked for before a credit is spent on it.
Can Rekka explain my own documents?
Yes. Attach images or a PDF and Rekka reads them as source material, so the video explains your document rather than a generic version of the topic. You can also talk through the attached pages in chat first, then generate once the plan looks right.
How long can a video be?
A single credit covers up to 100 seconds. Beyond that, Rekka plans the topic into chapters and renders each one, up to 60 chapters. You can ask for a specific chapter count, or just say whether you want something short, standard, or in depth, and the planner sizes it.
Who uses Rekka?
Teams making onboarding and training material, product and marketing teams explaining how something works, educators and course creators, and developers who wire video generation into their own products through the API. Anyone who would rather send a two minute video than a page of text.
Pricing and credits
How much does Rekka cost?
Plans start at $5 a month for 26 credits, and one credit makes one video. Annual plans bill once and bring every credit down to about $0.14, saving up to 33 percent. You can also buy credits as a one off top up at $0.18 each.
What is a credit?
One credit makes one video of up to 100 seconds of finished, narrated animation. Longer videos are split into chapters and each chapter costs one credit. Anything over 2 credits shows you the estimate first, and the final charge is capped at it and refunded down if the video comes in shorter.
Is there a free plan?
No. Creating an account is free and you can plan a video in chat without paying, but rendering one needs credits. The cheapest way in is the Starter plan at $5 a month, which covers 26 videos, and you can cancel whenever you like.
Do credits expire?
Plan credits cover the billing period they were granted in and do not roll over. Credits bought as a one off top up last 365 days from the day they land. Rekka always spends the soonest expiring credits first, so plan credits get used before purchased ones automatically.
Can I cancel or change plan any time?
Yes. Cancelling stops the next renewal and takes nothing back: credits from the period you already paid for stay usable until that period ends. Upgrades and downgrades both apply immediately, and you keep any one off credits you bought regardless of what happens to the subscription.
Do I pay again if a video fails?
No. Credits are authorized when a job starts and only settle against what actually gets rendered. A failed job is refunded back to your balance, and a video that finishes shorter than its estimate is charged for what it delivered, not what it reserved.
Videos and output
What do I actually get at the end?
An mp4 with narration, hand-drawn visuals, and the audio synced to what is being drawn on screen. You can watch it in the app, download the file, or switch on a public share link so someone can watch it without an account.
Can I edit the video afterwards?
There is no timeline editor. If something is off, you adjust the prompt and generate again, which is usually faster than editing frames by hand. Each regeneration costs a credit, so it is worth steering the script in chat before you render.
Where does the narration voice come from?
Rekka writes the script and speaks it for you, so there is nothing to record and no microphone involved. The voiceover is generated as part of the render and timed against the drawing, which is why the audio and the visuals stay in step.
Can I use Rekka videos commercially?
Yes. You own what you create, so videos are yours to publish, embed, and use in commercial work, including client projects and paid courses. Every video stays private to your account until you deliberately turn on a public share link for it.
API and agents
Does Rekka have an API?
Yes. Post a topic, style, and format to the REST API and poll the job until it is done, then read the finished video URL off the response. Keys are created in the app under Settings and API keys. API videos draw on the same credit balance as the web app.
Can an AI agent use Rekka as a tool?
Yes. Rekka runs a streamable HTTP MCP server, so agents like Claude can call it as a tool and produce a video mid conversation. It authenticates with the same API key and spends from the same credit balance as everything else.
